![]() ![]() The two laptops have no dedicated graphics, and have no background tasks. PS: All computers play on strategic mode, though the 2000 and the HP Desktop have been noted to be able to play outside of this mode. Do any of you know what could be causing this? Still, the game runs well between decently large groups if the 2000 is not around. Reading these descriptions to some must've been laughable. Is there any way this issue could be resolved? Is this computer simply doomed because of some error in civilization's code? These computers are obviously not the best machines to run Civilization on. This has done nothing to affect turn times. Still, I host, so Civ on each computer can take hold fully if necessary of the maximum data transfer rate (being 100 mbps). We use a gigabit ethernet switch, even though I'm the only one with gigabit ethernet. Turns on maps are pretty long on these machines (at least 15-30 seconds) but the 2000 can bump that up to a whole minute! It's especially bad when sometimes the damn thing times out and we have to reload the whole game. ![]() We've even tried the new Lua engine I saw was recommended in a post 2 years back, and lowering graphics settings, High performance launchers, setting the process to top priority, defragmenting game files, but this has done nothing. The computer isn't slammed with work either, so the CPU is left doing nothing. I did a little investigation with the task manager and found out that between turns, while on the M750, which is mine, civ uses about 60% of the CPU, on the 2000, it only uses 30%. They're all pretty similar in nature, except that the M750 has an SSD. One HP Pavilion desktop with an AMD Athlon X4 (If i remember correctly) from at least 2008, and a Toshiba Portege M750 with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz from 2009. It is noticeably slower than the other computers which are much older. This laptop is an HP 2000 notebook, and has an AMD A6-5200. However, one of our members has a computer that slows down the game drastically, even on a small map.
